The Great Blue Heron

The Pileated Woodpecker

The Pileated Woodpecker

The Great Blue Heron is often seen nesting in the treetops or fishing along the shallow slough waters of Oregon.  Majestic and impressive, the Heron's traditional symbolism is similar to the crane: longevity, happiness, and the ability to reach higher consciousness.

The Pileated Woodpecker and Family represent Oregon's largest of the woodpecker family.   These birds live here year round and love to gobble up carpenter ants, yum!
